The 14-page booklet is a lifesaver for a beginner like me—each step for the coaster and handbag was clear enough that my 9-year-old niece could follow along too. We finished both projects in a weekend, and the yarn colors are vibrant enough that the placemat actually looks nice on our table now.
My 9-year-old finished the coaster pattern in one afternoon, and the step-by-step booklet made it so she didn't need me hovering. The seven yarn colors gave her plenty of options, and the extra hook meant we could crochet together.
The 14-page booklet walks you through each project clearly enough that my 9-year-old finished a coaster on her first try. The seven yarn colors give you decent variety, though I wish there was a bit more yardage per skein—we barely had enough for the handbag. Still, a solid kit for the price.
